Why Choose Newtown?

You can almost hear people arguing over what they love most.  For some it’s the proximity to American history.  For others, the treasures found in boutiques, the variety of edibles or the pockets of suburban sanctuary.  This local pride is what drives us to want the best for our municipality every day.

Get to know our miles of shopping and dining as well as our acres of business parks and main streets, of which many are listed on the Pennsylvania historic register.  A school district that ranks near the top in state polling and a lower tax base than comparable suburban towns.

Once people find us they have a tendency to stick around.  From merchants who have turned the key to their shop every morning for almost a half-century to home owners who have passed along the family site from one generation to the next, Newtown has a hold on us all.

These first person accounts give a taste of this sentiment.   Read below to see how those who live, work, worship and shop here genuinely feel.

Here's What People Are Saying About Newtown...

"Newtown has been an ideal location for our corporate headquarters. We enjoy the easy access to I-95 and other major routes, and also to playing a role in all of the wonderful events and Newtown festivities."

—  Kent C. LufkinPresident & CEO, Third Federal Bank

"Within the first year I moved to Newtown I learned how wonderful the community, environment and people were.  In the 30 years since, I have heard many people say that Newtown is a great place to live and raise our children.  The quaint shopping area, well maintained homes, wonderful schools and local spirit are what sets Newtown apart from other communities.  In an effort to preserve Newtown for others to enjoy, I became a Councilman and a member of service organizations in order to help insure that this unique community would continue to be the best place to live for years to come."

—  Duane E. Buck, Newtown Resident   Andrew Drive

"We chose Newtown for our Milk Money store because we knew the value of an upscale childrens' consignment shop would be appreciated by the Newtown community. The Newtown shopping district is growing, and we felt that Milk Money could benefit from this expansion as well as provide the community with an opportunity to consign and purchase high-quality childrens' clothing."

—  Jennifer MacDonaldOwner   Milk Money, 123 N. Sycamore Street

"As someone who grew up in this amazing small town and is raising his family here, I can attest that Newtown is a great place to live, shop, work, start a business, and simply enjoy life!"

—  Dr, Robert CiervoChairman   Newtown Township Board of Supervisors
