A simple walk down the brick sidewalks of our borough's main streets is all it takes to understand the history that precedes us. Newtown Borough is much like any other early American town. That is, if that town features a former headquarters of George Washington or a library that's older than our Constitution.
In totality, our municipality is made up of enchanting shops, restaurants, historically accurate residences and professional retailers and services. It is a community that continues to expand with new business opportunities and places to live. Here you’ll find everything from the headquarters of a major aeronautical technology company to a third generation family-owned ice cream shop.
As a municipality of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Newtown Borough is on the National Register of Historic Places. Our local Council volunteers oversee boards and committees, local services, budgets and other borough projects to maintain this rich heritage and future prosperity.
